Where I Live

Sheffield is a city in the north of England and is 5th largest in England by population size. Its name derives from the River Sheaf, which runs through the city. It is the greenest city in Europe with more trees than there are people.

Sheffield sits on the edge of the Peak District; a large and hilly national park, offering activities such as walking, climbing and sight-seeing. The area surrounding Sheffield offers opportunities for landscape photography, while the city itself, having gone through a redevelopment in recent years, is becoming more and more picturesque.

Sheffield is rumoured to have the highest student retention rate in the country, the reasons for which are no-doubt numerous, though access to the Peaks must play a vital role.
