The majority of the images in this gallery have been taken in the studio and are anywhere between 2:1 and 5:1 magnification (5 times life-size on the sensor). In most of the images, two light sources have been used – a camera mounted flash with diffuser and an optically triggered second flash. The final two images in the gallery are of an insect in its natural habitat. It is a shame that the other insects were not in their natural habitats, but the control available in the studio offers a unique view of these creatures otherwise unavailable – particularly through stacking.
